Criminal/Georgia History Checks
A criminal history check may be obtained at the Richmond Hill Police Department. A signed consent form is required by the individual on whom the records check is being conducted. Consent forms may be obtained at the Richmond Hill Police Department. Individuals requesting the information must have picture identification and pay a $10.00 fee. There is a three day waiting period.
Individuals requesting a driver’s history need to inquire with the Department of Motor Vehicles in the state the license was issued.
House Checks
You can have the Police Department place your home on the House Check List. The officer rides by and checks on your home while you are away. It is suggested that you also have a trusted friend, neighbor or relative check your home.
To have this service done come by the Police Department and fill out a House Security Form and we will add your home to the Check List.
Fingerprinting
The Richmond Hill Police Department offers limited finger printing services. The service is available Monday – Friday, except city holidays, from 8 am to 5pm. Those seeking fingerprinting service must provide their own cards, There is a $5.00 service charge. Fingerprints
Police Reports
The Records Section of the Richmond Hill Police Department keeps incident and accident reports as well as other department records. You can reach this department by calling (912 756-5645/756-2635/756/2644. The officer will give you a card with the case report number (CRN) on it. It is helpful if you bring this number with you when picking up your report.
Requests for local background checks and open record requests are processed through the records section
A copy of the Police Accident Report is $5 and the Incident reports are reports free.

Accident Reports
When you come to the Police Department to obtain a copy of your accident report, please be prepared to supply as much of the following information as possible:

• Location
• Date Occurred
• Time
A statement of need will be provided at the time of your request asking you to specify one of the following before you to obtain accident report information:
STATEMENT OF NEED
• Has a personal, professional, or business connection with a party to the accident (specify)
• Owns or leases an interest in property allegedly or actually damaged in the property
• Was allegedly or actually injured by the accident
• Was a witness to the accident
• Is the actual or alleged insurer of a party to the accident actually or allegedly damaged by the accident
• Is the prosecutor or a publicly employed law enforcement officer
• Is alleged to be liable to another party as a result of the accident
• Is an attorney stating that he/she needs the requested report as part of a criminal case or an
• Investigation of a potential claim involving contentions that a roadway, railroad crossing, or intersection is unsafe
• Is gathering information as a representative of a news media organization (specify organization
• Is conducting research in the public interest for such purposes as accident prevention, prevention of injuries or damages in accidents, determination of fault in an accident or
• Accidents, or other similar purposes, provided, however, this subparagraph will apply only to accident reports that occurred more than 30 days prior to the request and which shall have the name, street address, telephone number and driver’s license number redacted.
Accident reports will be ready for pick-up within (3) three to (5) business days of your accident. You may call (912) 756-5645 / 756-2635 / 756-2644 to see if the report is available for pick up. Reports can also be obtained by mail or fax (912) 756-2008. The Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute and the Governors Office of Highway Safety have devoloped a course that works with new driver's and their parents to reduce injuries and driver error. The course is called P.R.I.D.E. (Parents Reducing Injuries and Driver Error). Richmond Hill Police Department has implemented the course as a resource to our citizens. The class schedule is located below and on the Bulletin Board section of this website. Registration is required as there is 15 slots per class. To register call email Cpl. Susan Willis.
Cpl. Susan Willis, is trained as a Child Safety Seat Technician and is available to assist with instructing and installing child safety seats. It is important that the owner’s manuals for both the child safety seat and the vehicle be available for the technician to insure proper installation of the child safety seat.
